So, really, what's the point of dumping feeds into Jaiku but doing all the "talking" on that other place? Maybe the feeds aren't worth it?

    I find they're not - it's like half a conversation that I can't join in on.

I know. Time was that I commented on someone's feed or pic from Flicker right here on Jaiku, but it didn't take me long to realize that some folks were just doing a "dump and run" here. Which begs the question that maybe people just don't want to be conversational. Maybe all that matters is that we shout "look at me!" everywhere. How boring.

I think it depends, in part, on whether the person is active on here (vs just their feeds being active). If the person is active, then I'll comment. Otherwise, it's just a broadcast - not a conversation opener.

Exactly. Which prompts me to unsubscribe from the feeds, since they're no better than personal advertisements. Makes the pages more interesting, too.

There's no point to this without conversation. Monologue gets old very quickly. I know I want dialogue.

Then there's the old "lifestream" argument. For some people, Jaiku is the master aggregator of all their content. Rather than checking their blog, Flickr, Jumpcut etc etc you could just check in to the one spot here on Jaiku and keep up to date that way.

It's not the way that I would do it but that shouldn't make it any less a valid way to use Jaiku.

On the other hand, I only make contacts with people who actually participate, but that's because of the way that I choose to use Jaiku :)

I can´t find a way to add feeds to jaiku. Where´s that option?
